It’s going to be a short blog post for the first one. I’ve been developing LoreA for a bit of time at Ashlight. It’s gone through a couple of iterations to even get to this basic stage. The MVP of LoreA is mainly to gather feedback, and to figure out whether this is a solution the narrative community is interested in engaging with!
The current solution is hosted on streamlit, though the final product is projected to be completely different, either being a plugin for commercial engines, or a SaaS client. Streamlit was chosen for speed of deployment and to get feedback quickly from the community. At this point, I’m choosing to stall development until I can get valuable feedback to steer the direction of LoreA. At the end of the day, this is a tool I want folks to care about, to engage with and to feel like they own and can influence.
In terms of the features so far, I’ve built out some basic features that offer the core of the LoreA experience. Getting these right from the start and getting feedback will allow us to make the foundations much stronger, and from there I can build a much better tool.
- Lore Templates - Fields to define things like Characters, Locations, Events, Items etc
- Searching and Filtering - Based on name, tag types
- Entry Linking - Link entries based on relationships and
- Lore Exports - Export to a couple different formats for versioning (native versioning planned later)
- AI Prompt Generation - For an entry, generate some lore, dialogue, motivation etc. This takes into account all related entries, tags and lore to set the tone and content of the output

In terms of what’s planned? Going forward, there will be a lot of opportunities to influence the LoreA roadmap. However there are some core features that we can take into the conversation from the start.
- Custom Worlds and Entry Types - Define your own entry types, group content by theme or story, and shape your structure.
- Shared Projects - Work with others in shared lore spaces. Leave comments, suggest edits, and explore version history.
- Lore QA and Consistency Tools - Find contradictions, missing tags, or opportunities to connect isolated lore.
- Engine Integration - Full Integration directly into your game engine with branching narratives, character dialogue generation and dynamic storylines
I am genuinely excited to build this tool for the narrative community, and feel like it has very high potential to create some amazing worlds in the right hands. If you’re also excited, I’m always looking for folks to join me on the journey, either through feedback or word of mouth.
If there is anything you’d like to comment on, just reach out to [email protected]. As we build a community we’ll have better places to provide this feedback directly, like Discord, X, bluesky and others.
If you are interested in providing some feedback on LoreA itself, or engaging with the sandbox to play around in, feel free to hop in here!
